R4 Gba Emulator Without Slot 2

GBA emulator for R4??? This is a discussion on GBA emulator for R4??? Within the M3 DS Simply and R4 Discussion forums, part of the NDS Flashcarts & Adapters Discussion category; Ok before you start ranting on about how the R4 or any other Ds flashcart can't run gba files. Mar 09, 2018  Some games will work better than others obviously because it's not a perfect emulator. Sometimes you might see visual glitches in a game you're playing. Jun 23, 2010  the games are transferred to a volatile (or semi-permanent, your choice which to use) memory from the Slot-1 card, then the DS is turned into a GBA, access to Slot-1 is cut off and you play the game that was stored in slot-1 from slot-2.

Ok before you start ranting on about how the R4 or any other Ds flashcart can't run gba files or that it doesn't have an emulator. I've already done my research and everywhere I looked, I saw threads about if there are any and everyone says the same exact thing 'No there isn't use a 3-in-1 gba flash cart, and etc.' but I want to know is 'why isn't there a gba emulator and/or why is it not .gba compatible?
AND
How is it possible that people have made emulators or NES,GB/GBC, Genesis, and N64 (which in my opinion is far more superior than the gba) but no one has made a gba emulator for DS flashcarts?

Just because we have a DS doesn’t mean we don’t want to play some older portable Nintendo games. While we could play the original Gameboy cartridges on our Gameboy Advances, the Nintendo DS doesn’t afford us that luxury. However, with a little emulation power, we can resolve that issue and make your portable gaming life even better.

What Is The Best Gameboy/Gameboy Color Emulator?

While GNUboy DS (aka DS_GBC / DSBoy) was the first Gameboy emulator for the DS that had sound support (there was also the GBA-based Gooba Color), Lameboy quickly rose to victory as the superior emulator for the classic Nintendo portables. Lameboy is constantly being updated (last update as of this writing was just a few months ago) and has excellent compatibility, sound emulation, and save state support that its competition can not boast of. There is still some slight room for improvement, but I think you will be pleased by how polished Lameboy actually is. Along with nesDS, it is on the top of the Nintendo DS Emulation family. Easy Installation

After some of my frustrating experiences getting some of my GP2X emulators to run, I was very happy with the simplicity of the Lameboy installation. Assuming your homebrew cart doesn’t require patching, all you do is download the executable file and put it in a folder with some Gameboy ROMs. (Actually, you don’t need folders, and your ROMs can be elsewhere, but folders usually help keep things organized)

For my CycloDS Evolution cartridge, I just copied over a folder (named “GB”) that had the executable and my ROMs on to MicroSD card, popped it in my DS Lite, and I was good to go. No configuration is required to get things up and running. If you have an older homebrew solution, you may need to patch the executable before use.

Video Tour of Lameboy

To get a better feel for how Lameboy handles, I’ve recorded a quick video that walks through some of the menus and shows a few games in action.

Memory: 0MB + memory overheadHA slots with no memory reservation on a VM:HA slots with 2048MB memory reservation on a VM:The number of HA slots available in the cluster is affected because the DSVA has reserved memory. You may consider using the HA advance attribute das.slotmeminmb to override the memory slot size. The basic formula used is as follows:(Total Cluster Resources - Total Reservations) / Total Cluster Resources = %As an example, if a cluster has 100GB of memory and a total of 20GB in memory reservation, there will be 80GB of memory available in the cluster to start the VMs. https://omgmother.netlify.app/vmware-ha-slot-size-memory.html. Percentage of Cluster Resources ReservedUnder this policy, the total amount of reservations in the cluster is considered when calculating the available resources.

Lameboy’s Best Features

  • High compatibility
  • Full speed for most games
  • Support for large games greater than 2 MB in size
  • Zipped ROM support for games smaller than 2 MB
  • “Fast Mode” with L-trigger
  • Auto save on exit to menu
  • Pseudo bilinear upscaling mode
  • Super Game Boy borders and coloring support
  • Rumble emulation with slot 2 devices with rumble
  • Green color scheme option emulating original Game Boy color palette (green to very light green)
  • Configurable X/Y Keys
  • Save states

Complaints & Limitations

  • I can’t seem to exit out of Lameboy and go back to my CycloDS menu (like I can with regular games)
  • Some games like Shantae have some minor audio processing issues (see video above for Shantae example)
  • Would be cool to have a rewind feature like nesds
